BUSINESS ADVISOR Beata Krawczyk works in GAPR Ltd. as a project manager and project financial manager since 2017.Graduated from environmental engineering at the Silesian University of Technology. In the previous work dealt with issues and projects related to water and sewage technology, biotechnology, mining, environmental protection and revitalization. She’s managing project that aims to ensure better access for medical sector SMEs to services offered in living labs. She is also involved in supporting SMEs in establishing international cooperation.
DEPUTY BUSINESS ADVISOR Aneta Aleksander has a PhD in the field of Economic Sciences, discipline of Management Sciences at the Silesian University of Technology. Works in GAPR Ltd. since 2013 within Enterprise Europe Network as a senior consultant. Has extensive experience in conducting audits in enterprises within IMP3rove – recognized by the European Commission and the European Standardization Agency system for assessing the level of innovation management in an enterprise.
OTHER STAFF Aleksandra Szczerbak-Ruta works in GAPR Ltd. In the Regional Centre of Innovation and Technology Transfer as an international projects manager since 2015. Graduated from Economy, International Relations and Affairs at the Cracow University of Economics. As a KETGATE Project Manager, she has extensive knowledge and skills in the area of SKAP installation and operation. Experienced in international projects management and implementation, organization of workshops, seminars, conferences and brokerage events.

Alicja Michalik graduated from Organization and Management at the Silesian University of Technology. In GAPR Ltd. coordinates activities within the Network of Regional Specialist Observatories in Entrepreneurial Process of Discovery, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, to achieve improvement of the management of region’s scientific and technological development. She also implements entrepreneurship and innovation support in the field of medical products and devices and creation of conditions for effective commercialization of research results of universities and research and development facilities within MedSilesia Cluster.

Upper Silesian Agency for Entrepreneurship and Development Ltd. (GAPR) is a regional business support institution experienced in emerging industries consulting, cross-cluster cooperation and networking. GAPR is involved in work groups regarding national intelligent specializations. It plays a role of  innovative centre accredited by Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and also is a member of National Innovation Network

GAPR manages Regional Centre of Innovation and Technology Transfer assisting SMEs among others in strategy development, productivity techniques implementation, innovation management, technological partnerships creation. GAPR offers technology brokerage services aiming to improve efficiency and effectiveness of technology transfer and research results commercialization.

GAPR manages one of regional branch observatories within the Regional Network of Smart Specializations Observatories in Upper Silesia region. The branch observatory is focused on medicine technology and allows a quick and easy access to expertise in strategic technology area.

The Agency also manages MedSilesia Cluster, gathering more than 100 institutions, companies and R&D partners from medical sector. MedSilesia Cluster was appointed by the Ministry –  the Key National Cluster. One of 16 such clusters in Poland, and the only one representing medical-technology sector. National Key Clusters  are characterized by their significance to Polish economy and international competitiveness.

Ecosystem Area

The Śląskie Voivodeship has long been perceived as a region of huge innovative potential. The large number of academic institutions and an extensive industrial background created good conditions for forming and diffusion of innovation. In the recent years, together with the gradual financing of restructuring processes on the heavy industry and the conversion in the mode of organizing public services, innovative communities emerged in the region  – which, drawing upon the previous experiences or market position, dynamically began to position themselves in domestic or international arrangements. They are related with both traditional branches such as mining industry, energetics or metallurgy, and chemistry, environmental protection, automotive production, logistics and medicine. Upper Silesia Region is a region with a high population density. Strengths are for example in the fields of Innovative SMEs collaborating, exports of MHT manufacturing, and in marketing and organisational innovations. GAPR cooperates closely with 14 R&D institutes in Upper Silesia Region.

Apart from the KETGATE service package, SKAP in GAPR Ltd. offers support under the Enterprise Europe Network services: analysis of innovation management in companies, consulting and training services, support in the field of technology transfer, including technology audits, exchange of technology offers, assistance in finding technological partners, and associating entrepreneurs with scientific units from abroad, support in searching for international business, technological and scientific partners. Unique value and capabilities of the Enterprise Europe Network results from close cooperation of centers, which consists of exchange of business or technological information needed.

Since the beginning of its operation the Agency has been focusing on supporting and increasing activity on the labour market, managing 2 Entrepreneurship Incubators, widening the offer of professional trainings and counseling, providing advisory services, vocational and psychological counseling and supporting financially start-ups and SMEs.

Core activity of the Agency is provision of a wide range of support and services dedicated to the entrepreneurs and enterprises.
